My only concern with the entire thing was how does it read to a non-SOT reader. Does it grab you enough and does the "other wordliness" come across in the right way?
I kept trying to ask myself if I didnt know anything SOT how suspenseful is it and what does my mind conjure up.
And on that note I do not think this book is quite up to Terry's quality. I think this book was actually "slammed" into production to satisfy a need to end the SOT finally due to LOTS. It kind of had that feel to me. There is enough open in the fact that records were lost and so forth to make returning to the series possible should the opportunity or desire present itself but I seriously doubt that Terry will anytime soon especially while the dreaded show still airs.
I appreciate the book but Im not looking for anything more SOT out of it. Im very interested in the next book to see if it really lives up to the promise of being a real departure from SOT and how well Terry does with it.
